There are hundreds thousands of substances (plants, minerals etc.) in the world, they are not Chinese remedies unless the substances have been prescript by a practitioner of Chinese Medicine who practice under the theory of Chinese Medicine. Traditional Chinese remedy has been developed and well tested by Chinese people over the last 3000 years, so it has been formed a complete system of treating various illness and also providing the nutrition for keeping the balance of our mind and body.

Chinese remedy is safe as long as one practice under the direction of the theory of Chinese Medicine. It can be dangerous if someone does not know what one's doing.

  • How are the remedies prescribed?

The remedies are prescribed following an in-depth diagnosis determined by questions on symptoms, medical history and emotional factors. The remedies are usually taken in the form of a drink, which the patient prepares from a prescribed mixture of herbs. The treatment can last for several months, regular consultations are given to determine if there is a change in the patient's condition which will require the herbs to be altered.

  • Who can be benefit from Chinese remedies?

Remedies are prescribed to both adults and children. The dose and duration of treatment is greatly reduced for children. Older people and patients with chronic conditions usually require longer periods of treatment, to rebuild their health and vitality. Acute illnesses can be dramatically relieved with Chinese remedies. Chinese remedies can be used to strengthen the immune system; alter states of mind; greatly ease chronic skin diseases such as eczema and psoria sis and benefit influenza, asthma and women's conditions.

  • Safety and Ethics

We comply with the Code of Practice and the Code of Ethics of the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine and Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

  • There have been some cases of toxic reaction to herbs. Am I likely to be affected?

None of these cases have occurred in patients of members of the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine and Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, therefore treatments by fully trained and regulated practitioners, with regular check-ups would ensure safety. You should always inform the practitioner if you have any liver or kidney disease.

  • Will be able to take Chinese remedies in conjunction with a course of acupuncture?

Yes, very often your practitioners will recommend it.

  • Do symptoms return after ceasing treatment?

No. The treatment is intended to restore a balance in the system unless the balance has been disturbed again.
